......so tomorrow is day one of the cold turkey attempt.

I've been wanting/needing to quit for sol long but honestly, I actually never really tried. Well, now I don't have a choice.

Wish me luck!

Good luck! My h (no d at the moment!!) did this two months ago and has felt so much better once the worst was over.

Oh god, that would ruin me, good luck. I have been wanting to give up for about a year now but I will be an awful person to live with if I go cold turkey. I figure slowly lowering the mg til it's zero might be the best option.

Bon chance, brave person!

worrywilma · 13/01/2024 14:25

Ok so I have caved already.......but this is the longest I've ever gone without it, so I know I can break the habit. It's just the addition I need to conquer.

I'm going to get some nicotine patches and start properly next week ✌🏻

Please do. Vapes are also horrendous for you.

also worth knowing that the tobacco companies lost no money in people quitting smoking. They own all the vape companies!

dothehokeycokey · 13/01/2024 14:38

@WhatAFoolishFool

I'm not sure when giving up vaping or smoking people are thinking about how they won't be funding tobacco companies.

More likely for health and financial reasons

WhatAFoolishFool · 13/01/2024 14:44

It’s more the point that the tobacco companies knew and lied to the public for 60 years about the damage cigarettes do to humans. So the fact they’re now earning just as well from vaping should scream to the masses that they’re also harmful and to get off of them.

Horrendous for you. How do you know this?

I am not a vaper but I have no problem with those who do. I'd say vaping has saved many lives and I would never criticise it.

Good luck OP, I hope you succeed if that is what you want.

When it seems hard, imagine what it's like to be told you have lung cancer.

Bluewallss · 13/01/2024 15:31

Don’t go cold turkey it’s so easy to cave in again at any minor inconvenience.

Buy yourself some nicotine lozenges in 2mg strength and when you want to vape have one. You’ll find you just start having less and less lozenges until you don’t have them any more.

I’m currently two weeks vape free after years of trying!
