I'm broken

I find being a mum such a slog. I just don't understand why my child won't get into anything at all !
He refuses to do any sort of activity as so anxious and I feel he's missing out on so much. He's 7. Ironically he's quite "extrovert" but he will just not join in with anything or try anything new. Everything is such a fucking battle and I'm at a loss as to how I can help. Awaiting assessment at school for some strategies as to how to navigate this.......for both him and me

Does he made many friends at school?

thinkingcapon · 12/01/2024 20:05

Seems to be a really popular kid at school

Are any of his friends in any local sports teams? Maybe take him to go watch one of his friends playing a sports game? Might spur some interest.

Have you tried Cubs?

Watching with interest - literally everything is a battle, ending in tantrums with my 7yo dd.
Interesting that you use the word anxiety. I’m convinced this is one of my daughter’s biggest problems.

I just don’t know how to help her.

How can I get him to these places if he doesn't want to go?! Tears/tantrums/throwing . Literally
Making himself sick!
