Does anyone know how effective the “limit adult websites” on an iPhone is?

It’s quite effective, blocks the obvious ones, also disables private mode and stops users turning off safe search on google image searches. Using a VPN doesn’t circumvent it.

It’s not foolproof though so someone with enough motivation will be able to find adult material. But as they can’t go into private mode they’ll have to delete their browsing history or it’ll appear there. So if they have no browsing history then that’s a red flag.

There might be some loopholes or something I’ve missed but hope this helps.

I have DCs phones set up the same. Every so often, the settings revert or do not work. E.g the phone is not blocked at downtime as set. The limit adult websites becomes unblocked. App limits do not work.

Make sure the screen time controls are set up under your Apple ID. That way if they to reset the passcode it’ll come to you rather than them (I’m assuming DS).
