Hi all I’ve recently discovered this red bump on the roof of my mouth.. it’s quite painful. From picture it doesn’t look like a bump but I can feel it with my finger?? Does this look concerning?

If it's new it could be from a scratch and will settle. If not, see your dentist.

I would make an appointment as soon as you can, because it might take a while to get seen. You can always have a check up or cancel it if the bump goes away.

It’s been there for about 2 days

Definitely get it checked with your dentist but I had the same thing and it was a blocked/inflamed gland of some sort, it comes and goes occasionally but the dentist wasn't concerned and it doesn't bother me much (now I know its nothing sinister at least).

That’s my worst fear, it’s only been there 2 days but my health anxiety is so bad

I’d give it a couple of weeks and then see a dentist. Perhaps book an appt now for then, you can cancel it nearer the time when it has hopefully gone.

Maggie712 · 01/03/2024 19:10

Did you get it figured out?

ThatBoldCat · 22/03/2024 22:25

experiencing the same. did you get a diagnosis?

threeblowdries · 22/03/2024 22:32

I had something very similar.
It was an infection and a root canal sorted it out .

BurntOutNurseryNurse · 22/03/2024 22:36

Could be an ulcer? I get them quite a lot on the roof of my mouth, and they are bloody sore!

QueenOfHiraeth · 22/03/2024 22:36

I had something similar and it just went on its own.
Dentist said most concerning things tend to be painless

I have something similar right now. I only noticed it yesterday and today it’s sore (perhaps from prodding it with my tongue constantly.) My health anxiety is dreadful lately.
