Called back in seven weeks after scan - should I be worried?

I had an ultrasound on the 27th of November after eight weeks of heavy bleeding. The sonographer at the time said everything looked ok and the bleeding soon resolved on its own. However I have had a call today to come in on Monday to speak to a consultant and was told I should have an appt letter which I haven't received. I am a bit concerned about this as it has been seven weeks and I hadn't heard anything so assumed it was all fine. If it was all fine though surely I wouldn't need to go in to the hospital and my GP would let me know/I would have a letter? Does having a follow up appointment like this mean the scan results are bad? Although I suppose the consultant doesn't know my issue has resolved.

Just after some opinions on what this could mean as I am now really anxious and the receptionist really had no idea.

As a general rule, the longer it takes for you to hear from them, the less there is to worry about. I’d guess that they just want to talk through their findings with you but that they haven’t found anything particularly concerning. You may have something like ectropion perhaps, or fibroids.

Thanks @WolfFoxHare . I suppose my concern is they must have found something or they probably would have just sent a letter/called me? But again I suppose it could also be to see if the bleeding has stopped etc.

I had a biopsy last year and they took 12 weeks to call me back in - no letter first. Just to basically tell me that they’d found nothing to be worried about.

12 weeks! Gosh that must have been horrible. Though I am glad to hear it was nothing and that does reassure me a bit that it will hopefully be the same for me.
