I am absolutely baffled.
I bought her a doll, like a big rag doll, very cute and a little bit special because it looked exactly like the one her mum had as a child. I remember wrapping it and my daughter writing a tag and then taking a pile of presents to hide in the study. (From younger child)
We packaged everything up in gift bags. I knew goddaughter would be at in laws house so I added her present to one of their bags (several other people would also be there so about 5/6 big bags of everyone’s mixed).
We then packaged up other stuff into gift bags, for friends, siblings, my parents house… delivered everything.
On Christmas day we were at in laws and GD opened a jumper we had also bought her and said thanks etc… it was one of the last gifts so I looked around for the doll and couldn’t see it. I asked DD to find it for her to open and it was nowhere to be found.
Assumed it must have been put in the wrong gift bag or left in the car so apologised and said we would find it - not in the car and assumed it would turn up and rectify itself.
It hasn’t. All friends haven’t said they had someone else’s gift and I’ve checked with my siblings and parents.
Got a thankyou card from GD today and it obviously just mentioned the jumper which jogged my mind and I will just order another one for her.
But what the hell happened to this gift?!
This is essentially a pointless post 😂 but it’s so frustrating to me and I’m so baffled by it.
