Energy supplier - Lincolnshire

Hello,

I wasn't sure where to put this.
I'm moving to Lincolnshire soon and need to start sorting out energy suppliers.
It's been a while since I've changed, before I start delving into comparison sites are there any suppliers people recommend/don't recommend? I'd really appreciate the feedback. The last supplier I was with was bulb, I then went into shared housing where bills where covered. I know they've been taken over by Octopus, are they any good?

Thanks in advance

I am in Lincs and with Octopus.

Having been with Bulb, Green and Shell before now - Octpous are the best. They've managed to fit a smart metre where everyone else failed and just wasted my time. Plus, I think their website is a bit easier to understand than most.

Also - they now have this scheme where you earn credits for things like metre readings, or smart metres, and you can convert them to cash. I just converted aboout £20 worth, which was better than nothing Grin

If you think Octopus is for you - that link will give you £50 credit on your account. It'll also earn me £50 but that's not why I am recommending them and obviously only go to them if it suits you to do so!

Octopus Energy

The UK's most awarded energy supplier. We're doing energy better - for you and the environment.

Oh brill thank you, I was leaning towards Octopus but as I'm at the very beginning of my search I thought I'd try and get a few opinions.

I don't think Shell are now viable but they were awful! If they are an option... avoid! Smile

The other thing Octopus do (others may also now, I am not sure), is have saving sessions. They basically nominate specific dates and times when they know energy demand is high and, if you use a bit less during those times they give you money back.

e.g. I think there was two hours a couple of weeks back when we had tea a bit later and did the washing the next day, which reduced our average electricity usage during one of those windows. I also got about £5 back for that. Not a massive amount, admittedly, but still nice to have.

I don't know if Lincolnshire has different features to the rest of the country but I'd definitely use the comparison sites for price, customer ratings and options for types of tariff

I dont think I've ever spoken to my energy supplier so customer service wouldn't necessarily be a big factor for me for example but I'd certainly want the cheapest price
