Age gaps in relationships

What kind of age gap would you think was too big with your adult child late teens and a partner?

I would think that more than 5-7 years would be too much, from my own experience as an 18 year old in a larger age gap relationship. But, as a parent, I wouldn't tell this to my child but instead be open and welcoming as my family didn't approve of my relationship and took about 2.5 years to meet him which just led me to hide it and made me more stubborn about it!
