If someone has died will my wotsapp conversation still stay?

(I tried downloading before and it only downloads a bit of it. Not all)

I still have my messages from both a friend and an aunt that died. I have downloaded the messages as a safekeeping but the WhatsApp’s have remained.

Yes. I still have entire WhatsApp conversations with an ex's mum who died over 4 years ago.
