Don't faint with excitement - swimming hats that actually work (for child)

We have a few provided by the pool and they don't work, hair always ends up varying degree of wet / damp.

9yo is soon to be swimming every morning so I need something to keep her hair dry as she doesn't have time to wash and blowdry.

Swimming hats don't keep hair dry! They keep your hair out of your eyes / face / goggles.

That's not the purpose of a swimming hat. They are used for streamlining.

Yeah, sorry, as they said! We use the fabric swimming hats (made out of swimsuit fabric) as they are easy to get on and off. It's about keeping the hair out of the way, the rubber ones don't keep them particularly dry anyway so I figured why not go for ease of use. One thing that helps is one of those hair wrap towels, my 7yo can use it herself to keep her hair out of the way while getting dressed and get the worst of the water out.

All you can do is to minimise the wetness of the hair imo - scrape into a high pony and twist into a tight bun, or plait high pony then into a bun. Then it will be damp on the outside but mostly dry. Caps sold as long hair one have a shape to accomodate the bun neatly

Nooooo - I didn't know this!

(although it does explain why they've never worked - child has been swimming for 4+ years now)

I just wanted to keep her hair dry as she is swimming every morning for a month before school - literally no time to dry hair!

It's so cold I don't want her with wet hair all day.

I'll look at the hair towels, thanks!
