I'm on a quest for trousers for DD and need the power of MN!

DD is 8 and has SEN. She desperately needs new trousers but we've got some very specific requirements and wonder if anyone can help us out - I'm searching everywhere and can't find what I'm looking for...

  • she's slim-waisted and long-legged, so needs elasticated and high waist otherwise her trousers/leggings fall down showing her bottom and she doesn't realise. She can't wear anything with a belt because of difficulty taking it on/off independently and in time for the loo
  • she has an overactive bladder, so trousers need to be dark in case of accidents. material also needs to be fairly thick for the same reason (at least thicker than normal leggings)
  • she trips over alot so trousers with a big flare are a no-go, but straight leg are fine
  • she likes to dress smart-ish so preferably not joggers, though relaxed look is fine

If your daughter wears anything like the above, can you let me know where you get them from?! I've trawled everywhere but it seems like everything I find is unsuitable for one reason or another! and if they happen to be cheap even better (she likes to put holes in things 🙃) but I'll settle for anything right now! :)

Have you tried sports leggings rather than cotton leggings?

My DDs are quite found of Next ones.

How about M&S school uniform trousers? You can tighten the waist with the elastic inside the waistband. They come in different lengths and leg width styles.
My DD is quite straight up and down, so the 'boys' ones fit her and my DS is plumper, so the 'girls' ones fit him better.

Sports leggings are a great idea, and have found some nice trousers on the m&s site. Thanks both!
