Hospital confusion

We were away from home on a day trip this weekend and my son dislocated his knee. He was treated at the local hospital. The nurse said she would send his notes across to our local hospital's fracture clinic and we can phone them to book an appointment. However, a different nurse from the original hospital has phoned today and said we have to take our son to the A and E at our local hospital and get him booked in there, so that he can then be referred to the fracture clinic. Essentially meaning we have to go through the whole process again (she did say his notes have been sent across ) Does anyone know if this correct?

I would speak to the GP surgery tomorrow. They will be able to make the appointment with fracture clinic.

@B1rd not necessarily. In my area fracture clinic appointments can only be made by ED or MIU. We (GP surgery) can’t make them.

@calexico phone fracture clinic at your local hospital and ask what the process is for him to be seen.
