Making the best of the gloomy months?

I know this is typically a gloomy time of year for people and I felt a little sad myself at the weekend packing away my Christmas decorations for another year.

I enjoyed Christmas but 2023 was pretty stressful for me but I think from now though to April I don't (touch wood) have anything pressing that I need to organise, sort out or shop for, no birthdays, holidays, events and so on and I feel like I finally have some time and space just for myself and that feels really nice indeed. I will of course have some nice days out with DH for walks, meals and the cinema and I will see some close family and friends casually but mostly I will be cosying in and taking some time to reset myself and do things that replenish me and letting go of the people and things that only bring negativity.

I've kept some Christmas fairy lights up for a cosy twinkle, I have lots of books to read, films to watch and a small mountain of Christmas chocolate it will take me until spring to get through so I am actually looking forward to the rest of winter this year.

So please share your own things for making the most for this time of year and how you make the best of the gloomy months!
