Going from 5 door car to 3 door

Has anyone done this with a child? It's just me and a 7 year old. My car is on its last legs and I've found a lovely 3 door fiesta (2019) but I'm a bit worried it'll really annoy me not having 5 doors.

Does anyone have a 7yo in the front seat? Or is it fine with a 3 door and DD in the back? We hardly ever have anyone else in the car.

Thanks...

I went from 5 door to 3 with one child. I did find it really annoying not being able to just sling stuff on the back seat. I have got used to it, but truthfully, it still annoys me.

Our second car is 3 door. Its fine... especially with a small child to retrieve things from the back if necessary.

I had a 3-door for 6 or 7 years with 2 kids. Don't know why we didn't upgrade but we did 2x car seats and baby seats in and out of the front doors.

Boot also had a glitch and wouldn't open after a few years- so we then had to use the boot through the front doors too- and even managed a camping trip, fitting all tent equipment and suitcases in the car through the front doors (we're divorced now -don't know if any correlation 😂)

But basically it was totally fine- so with one 7 year old you'll be totally fine

We had a 3 door (Aygo) until last year and managed ok getting DD in and out of her car seat when she was little. We replaced it with a 5 door version which I do prefer as there's less faffing getting everyone in but if it's just two of you then it's less of an issue.
I think you adjust to what you have and a 3 door car is perfectly manageable.

@rainydays1234 that's about the favourite reply I've ever had 🤣 I almost feel I can do anything now!

Thanks all. I've never had a 3 door so just no experience!

I’ve never had a 3 door as it would bug me so much. But it was just me and DS and he used to ride in the front in his booster seat all the time anyway.

Truthfully it is annoying but nothing you can't adapt to if you needed to.
Ideally avoid if you can but if not then you'll manage

I have had both. I would never go back to a 3 door car now. It's so inconvenient.

I did it when the youngest was just about to go into High School. It's fine, just make sure you read up on the front passenger airbag and age restrictions.
