Yoto questions

Hello all!

Son is coming up to 6 and I've been having a nosey at Yoto players. I've seen something about they won't work if not connected to WiFi though, is this true?

Also, ive seen recommended make your own cards using a borrow box account. I've got borrow box. I'm not going to lie, I'm not good with technology at all but am willing to give it a try! How much content does a make your own card store? For example, one half an hour story? Also, can the make your own cards be deleted and written over?

I was looking at a Tonie box but they look better for younger children, but he likes octonauts which aren't on Yoto.

Thanks all!

you need Wi-Fi to set it up and download new cards, but once they’re on the player it works without Wi-Fi (apart from ‘live’ content like radio and the podcast).

You can get something like 5 hours or 100 tracks on a MYO card. You can re-record on a MYO endless times :)

Thank you so much for this!

I can see that it plays white noise and waves to fall asleep to, is that controllable only by the app or can you access them on the actual box?

Sorry to ask another question!
To access the radio, can son do this on the unit itself, or do I have to get it up from the app?

Radio is accessed via the player itself (or the app), it is automatically set to come on by pressing one of the buttons when there’s no card in.

white noise and so on I believe can be linked to a MYO card so you can do it direct from the player without needing your phone, and it will work with no Wi-Fi once set up 😊

That's great thank you! I like the idea of son being able to put the radio on himself, rather than me having to mess around with an app on my phone.

Thank you again!

Yeah it’s great. The whole point is the kids can use it completely independently from 2 or so. My daughter puts the sleep radio back on herself when she wakes up in the night which sends her back off to sleep without needing me. Best toy we ever bought!!
