Sorry if this is a long post,but it is taking over my brain and I'm not sure if I'm being really silly or not.Around 8 years ago,I was living with my then partner and our 6 year old.A lovely cat who lived on the next road used to come round and spend time at ours and we'd see him so often that our 6 year old would even call him 'our cat'.He was a lovely friendly thing who I also know would go to our next door neighbour and he would feed him and even make him a Sunday dinner.I think he would visit other people as well,as lots of people seemed to know him and recognise him.His owners would come past every so often,see him and know he was OK,I don't know how often he actually returned to his original home though.
Anyway,somewhat out of the blue,my relationship with my ex imploded and me and my son left our home and didn't return,we moved in with relatives and since moved on.I saw my ex in our old home a few times in the weeks after our break up and when I asked him about the cat,he said 'oh I don't see much of him anymore since you left'.A month or so after our split,he left that house and it was given back to the council.
I know it sounds silly,but I have been really worrying lately,would the cat have thought we abandoned him or did he have other places to go? Would he have known he could've returned to his original house?Would he have gone to the man who was elderly and would make him dinner?
I've really been upset and worried recently that he was OK and I miss him too.
