If it’s not athlete’s foot, what is it?

Got cracks between my toes, it doesn’t smell but itches like crazy (only at night though)… I assumed it was athlete’s foot but according to NHS you get AF from someone else with athletes foot, and the only place I’m barefoot is at home and nobody else here has it. I’m about to head to Boots but last night chucked on some Savlon followed by Eurax anti itch cream which really helped. Just not sure what else it could be? The skin around my feet and toes is otherwise fine it’s just these cracks.

I don't know what it is but rubbing vick's vaporub into it helps me

That is athletes foot. Fungal spores and yeasts that cause athletes foot live happily on your feet and in the environment often without causing infection. You now have an infection of it. Get some athletes foot cream and it should clear up. If it doesn't - go to the GP.

If it’s itchy at night, could it be scabies?

I recently had to take some quite strong antibiotics so that could be why it’s kicked in now? Or would that get rid of it?

Ive had this before, mine wasn't athletes foot, I think it was caused by not drying my feet properly and using too much body lotion. The skin got soft and once I itched it turned into a cycle of itching and the skin barrier being weakened.

I washed with antiseptic sop and really dried feet and used talc and it cleared up.
