How long will it stay in the fridge? Place your bets.

Last Tuesday I made a chilli. There was a few tablespoons left. When DH went to wash up I told him to bin it as it was not enough to be useful. He declared that it was too much to waste so he was going to put it in the fridge and have it later. I told him that it was a waste of time and just to bin it.

That was nearly a week ago. It’s still there.

So, how long do we think it’ll stay there for? Place your bets.

Until you crack and throw it out

If this was our house it would be there until I threw it away. My DH never throws away leftovers. So it would be there forever unless I did it!

My DH does this every time, it drives me mad. I even remind him the next day when he is musing what to have for lunch and he says ‘oh, I don’t fancy that I had it last night’

I always end up throwing it away after 3/4 days and the cycle continues.

its not edible after a week is it?!

It will grow mould before he throws it out. You'll have to throw it out before it turns into a science experiment, sort of like the fridge scene in the original Ghostbusters.

It’s not edible. It’s a veggie chilli so possibly has a slightly longer shelf life, but it’s still no use outside a science experiment now.
