Help me find a blue and white painting

Nikee20 · 06/01/2024 20:49

Right, I’ve seen a large blue and white wavy type painting.
it’s more abstract than waves though.
it would go above a fire place.

Only Issue is I have no clue where I saw it and now I can’t find it.

Anyone want to help me find it?

Is it The Great Wave Off Kanagawa by Hokusai?

No idea where to find the one you saw (?google image search may help?) Otherwise maybe try looking on eBay using the filters - I've bought some stunning original pieces this way 😊

Hokusai did other pictures that fit the bill

Nikee20 · 06/01/2024 21:36

Thank you for the suggestions. None of the above.

Less real wave and more lines that are wavy.

Any of these? Have you tried Dunelm?

Nikee20 · 06/01/2024 21:45

Nope none of them.

More paler blue and less wavy.

it’s in my head but can’t find it anywhere!

Matisse?

KCandtheSunlightBand · 06/01/2024 23:21

Do you think you saw it on line? If so look back through your browser history, it will be time consuming, but you should find it.

Doggymummar · 06/01/2024 23:24

How much was it? Dud you see in person or online? What size?

MissFancyDay · 07/01/2024 00:20

Have you tried Google lens on the similar one up thread. I just did and loads came up, too many to post.

Or did you see it in real life?

Nikee20 · 07/01/2024 00:41

I saw it possibly online/on a shop but couldn’t afford it lit/house wasn’t in a state to receive it.
We’ve done major renovation while living in the house this year.
I guess I’ll have to keep an eye out for it again’!!!

If you can give us the name of the artist I am sure that someone will know. Or could it have been a local artist maybe?

SirQuintusAurieliusMaximus · 07/01/2024 13:19

@Nikee20 if you saw it online, can you give us an idea of the kind of shops you usually look at for a sense of the type of thing?

would it have been more etsy/ebay/amazon?

or more John Lewis/Habitat/Oka type style?

Or more Cox & Cox/Graham & Green?

Nikee20 · 07/01/2024 13:22

I’d say @CavaCoast is closest.

I honestly can’t remember where I saw it as look all over the place. I definitely don’t know the artist.
