I feel stupid- 40 years old and on my second year of a nursing degree and I am really struggling with the written work.
I have an essay and I have to critically analyse the biosychosocial model in looking after a patient with multiple sclerosis.
I haven't even got a clue what the hell I am meant to be doing :( feel like giving up.
Any advice ?

Critical analysis
** examining and evaluating a piece of work or information,

**consider strengths, weaknesses

** underlying assumptions.

** an objective assessment of arguments, evidence, and perspectives to form well-informed judgments.

What peer reviewed evidence is there that it's good/crap?

How easy is it to apply in practice? Why/why not.

What are its limitations in terms of how it applies to different groups of people/cultures.

Bio, psycho, social

so you’re pulling apart the care of an ms patient from the perspectives of biology (meds, physio, toilet intervention etc) psychology (impact of disability/restricions on mental health and any interventions to improve or manage thirst) and social (included in the community, interactions with caregivers/ visitors)

These days we understand that these things cannot be looked at individually as they all fees into each other ie a patient may be depressed/anxious (psycho) because they can’t move like they used to or care for themselves (bio) which can lead to them isolating themselves/mot seeking help they need as they think they are a nuisance (social) a negative cycle

If a patient started to go on group walks which gave them some positive social interaction then this may reduce their psychological symptoms (having more will to live and do things) and even their biological ones (building up muscle from regular exercise)

I have multiple sclerosis if you have any questions about the care i tend to receive or issues etc that might help.
Also recommend MS society for information to write about .

Dont give up though on what you're doing
