Dry January boredom…

First Friday night of Dry Jan, usually me and DH have a glass of wine/ beer or 2 most evenings whilst cooking dinner and chatting all evening. Today is day 5, and the boredom is overwhelming! We aren’t normally TV people, but seem to just sit in silence watching tv or on our phones.

  1. please tell me it gets easier?!
  2. please tell me what you guys do instead of having a drink in the evenings (esp weekends!)
thank you!

Hi 😊
I am also doing dry january with my husband for the first time.
We have created a 'timetable ' for ourselves where we go swimming/gym in the evening a few times a week , eat out in restaurants or yesterday we went to a shopping centre until 6pm then ate pizza out afterwards . We weren't home until 9pm.
Today we are going on a long walk in the countryside. Tonight we will share a bottle of Nonsecco and binge watch one of our favourite programmes and cook a curry together. All said, staying dry isn't easy and it doesn't come without its challenges as it's a converted plate change of life for us. 😁

It is boring. For me, nothing gives that buzz - but I'm stubborn and will complete DJ. It's a test of my will and I'll likely go longer if I can. I'm on my third book of the year. Next week I'm back to exercise classes x 4 per week.

Am finding I'm reading till 1am and still not tired. Was only drinking Friday and Saturday - but even half a bottle of red now gives me hangovers and I would lose the weekend. Alcohol is the theft of time. Don't give in.
