Restaurant recommendations - Central London

i am despairing after lots of aimless googling!

can anyone recommend a restaurant in central London which is within relatively easy reach of both Paddington and St Pancras? We’ve got a 5 hour window and it’s next week so ideally avoided potentially the tube (strike).

im meeting a dear friend for a long overdue long lunch. Ideally looking for something quite naice and independent. No dietary requirements, both open minded.

thank you!

Marylebone High street is right between the two. I like the upstairs at caldesi (Italian, trad). If you want a blow out, Chiltern firehouse is good and the drinks are excellent. There are about 20 restaurants on the road so one is bound to suit!

(@Angharad78 the 205 bus runs between the two stations. The high st will be no more than 15 m from either side. I had an excellent dinner at Fischers which is like a bonkers old world Viennese restaurant- if you like schnitzel and pickles go no further. It’s not exactly January light eating but it totally cos-plays 1920 Vienna and the staff are awesome. Superb adjacent sales shopping opportunities!)

Norma on Charlotte Street for Italian, or The Ninth if looking for something a bit fancier.
