Sad - I had the biggest crush on him as Ken Hutchinson.

I'm sorry but anybody that beats a woman deserves to burn forever in their version of hell......

I was a Hutch's Girl as a teenager, but after the domestic violence story hit the press I couldn't listen to Don't Give Up On Us Baby without hearing it as a man explaining to his wife why she shouldn't leave him just because he'd battered her in a fit of rage.

I expect many of us are familiar with this poster:

I was a Starsky girl myself, but I had Soul's LP "Playing to an audience of one" and it got played a lot when I was a teenager.

Of course I went right off him when I heard about the wife abuse.

But even so, hearing that he's dead still feels like the end of a younger part of my life. It reminds me that death is creeping up on me too. (it's being so cheerful keeps me going 😀)

Not to excuse the violence, but he did later visit prisons to talk to inmates about DV.

TooBigForMyBoots · 05/01/2024 22:09

I was a Starsky girl. But I loved David Soul's singing. He was brilliant as Jerry Springer in Jerry Springer: The Opera.

I couldnt believe he as 80!

I loved Starsky and Hutch as a teenager and played the album to death.
Paul Michael Glaser had quite a tragic life losing his wife and daughter to AIDS caught from a blood transfusion.

Willmafrockfit · 06/01/2024 09:04

he did have an alcohol problem

Since covid I have started knitting iconic knitwear , i have Knitted the Neville Longbottom, Harry Styles and Taylor Swift's cardigans . I was looking for another project and remembered the Starsky cardigan. My BF's Nan knitted one for her back in day. . I have managed to buy a vintage pattern online so it's now on in my project list.

I saw Paul Michael Glaser in Fiddler on the Roof the other day. He was very young in that and very good looking. That must have been filmed 50-60 years ago.

I have childhood memories of watching S&H with my older sisters and the THUMP on the bonnet of the car!!

FreshWinterMorning · 06/01/2024 17:59

Aww R.I.P. Sad Big fan of S & H in the 1970s, and loved the few hits he had. Don't give up on us was a classic. Also loved Silver lady, Sure brings out the love in your eyes, Going in with my eyes open, Let's have a quiet night in. Some good songs there! Smile

I saw PMG in Panto playing Captain Hook about 15 years ago!

Not keen on men who were convicted of domestic violence tbh.

KimberleyClark · 06/01/2024 21:29

Got my DH a Starsky cardigan for his birthday, he loves it.
