What is up with this weather??

This is the third week running we've had trees down locally. Roads are flooded. The wind is chaos. For weeks in a row people in the local WhatsApp have had green houses blow away, fences down, bins blown away.

When will the wind and rain stop?

I said to dh the other day I don't remember the winds being this vicious when I was dc's age. Just the 1987 big storm, but it seems we're having one of those a week at the moment!

We've still got nextdoor's she'd in our garden from the last one.

Should stop tomorrow. At the moment looks like we’re heading into a high pressure dominated couple of weeks, with some possibility of quite cold temperatures. Thankfully, as it’s been horrendous!

I'm in Solihull it was nice here today. A bit damp but sunny spells.

Trees down and rivers bursting banks it has been really bad. Roads closed due to excessive flooding also.

I'm in Nottingham and it's terrible. Today was the first dry day in what has felt like months. The Trent is flooding. Some cows drowned not too far away due to the weather. ☹️

I live right by the sea. It’s usually windy on a good day so this wind is ridiculous the the moment. Haven’t we had about 4 different storms in 2 weeks. I’m gonna be cliche and say it’s global warming for you.

Climate change doesn't necessarily cause one particular storm, or even a whole winter of storms. But it does increase the probability of extreme weather overall...

If only the scientists had warned us...

Global warming is changing our weather patterns, increasing the amount of water the atmosphere can hold, increasing wind speeds because warmer atmosphere equates to increased kinetic energy of air molecules... it will get worse. If you live in an area prone to flooding, or near eroding cliffs I suggest you move ASAP.

Well I mean...climate change is well underway so...
