Does anyone else regularly have bits of the Topsy & Tim theme song in their head despite not watching it for several years?

We can be
Anything
If we close our eyes and dream!

No but I often ask "are you good at remembering?" to anyone, regardless if child or adult, if I want to know if they've remembered something. And they look at me like 🤨

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 04/01/2024 21:51

No but I regular think they were massive for kids in nursery.

Scrantonicity2 · 04/01/2024 21:51

... I may also do that...

No idea what you mean.

(This is our street. It's where we live. We love to play together…)

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 04/01/2024 21:52

I can't remember it

Coffeespill · 04/01/2024 21:52

ARGH!

DelightfulDoris · 04/01/2024 21:52

It’s very catchy.

Actually makes me think of when my older 2 girls were pre school/reception age 😢🥺

Yes immediately the bloody theme tune is now back in my head...

It's a very catchy tune and a properly frustrating ear worm.

Timeforanewnam · 04/01/2024 21:57

Yes , but then whenever we set off from somewhere (think on a train from a station, or in the car after a traffic jam) I will say

“we are moving Rosie “

and get quite annoyed if someone doesn’t say

“where are we going to Jim ?”

most people look at me oddly

Namchange101 · 04/01/2024 21:57

DH and I regularly shout ARE YOU GOOD AT WEMEMBEWING at each other. Haven’t watched it for at least 6 years…

Stressyfab · 04/01/2024 21:58

This has just put Rosie and Jim in my head. Thank you 😂😂

Me too!

verdantverdure · 04/01/2024 22:01

My brain says "Shakira Shakira" at me whenever I'm having a brain fart.

Dynamoat · 04/01/2024 22:02

No but now I have "I'm a tot, je suis une tot, teeny, tot and tiny" raaaaah!

littleburn · 04/01/2024 22:03

No, but at bed time I still regularly sing 'the time has come to say goodnight, to say sleep tight 'til the morning light' to my bemused 10 year old 😁.

"And that said Mummy, was that"

Various T&T references in our house still, some from the books though (' "tickets please" said a friendly voice. It was the ticket inspector, he had come to check their tickets' is DH's favourite)

My late Dad used to say "it was a foggy day in Greendale" every single foggy day, even a good 35 years after I would have watched it in the 80s. And the theme tune was one of his regular whistles 😊

TheGirlInTheGreenDress · 04/01/2024 22:17

I think I can remember a bit of the Welsh language Topsy and Tim theme song that we listened to on tape at school in the 1990s (Topsi a Tim), as well as a song about bonfire night which gets in my head every October/November. I’m sure I can remember the accompanying book with pictures and the story. I could be wrong though. I can’t see anything on google. Any other Welsh MNetters remember:

“Mae hi’n noson tân gwyllt,
mae’r tân gwyllt yn neidio.
Boom bang bang
Boom bang bang
WIIIII BANG CRAC!”

Scrantonicity2 · 04/01/2024 22:22

I used to have these books as a kid

Postman Pat for the last bit not T&T obviously 🙄

hazandduck · 04/01/2024 22:31

I actually like that theme tune, it makes me a bit sad 😭. So many CBeebies songs make me happy and sad, my nearly 4 year old has to be convinced these days to watch it and my 6 year old has very little interest in it now. But it so reminds me of those happy days at home with my girls…And I still shout “what’s on your plate! Scrambled egg and soldiers!” every now and then 😂 Who can forget Waffle too?!

Sux2buthen · 04/01/2024 22:35

What's on your plate is an absolute tune

Sux2buthen · 04/01/2024 22:36

The handwashing song from I can cook

Roll up your sleeves
Give your hands a wash
With slippy dippy soap
Splish splash splosh

JoyOdell123 · 04/01/2024 22:36

I fucking HATE Topsy and Tim
