Boyfriend in trouble at work because of Facebook?

Someone in our village group posted asking for therapist recommendations and he put a laughing emoji. Someone asked why he was laughing and he just deleted it.

Screenshots were sent to his work by who knows who, could be anyone as his place of work is listed in his bio. Work said they will do sn investigation into it

Weird.

Why would his work care?
Why did he laugh?
Why did he then delete it?

TLIMSISNW · 04/01/2024 21:24

Why did he put a laughing face though?

FiftyandUnfit · 04/01/2024 21:25

I can't imagine his work doing much about this. He needs to just say that he accidentally knocked it and when it was flagged he removed it. His work may have a social media policy so its worth him looking at that.

He sounds like a bit of a dick based on that post. Presumably he doesn't work in health or social services or education or any of the caring professions. Does he have his work details on his Fb account? What does his contract say about sm?

CornishPorsche · 04/01/2024 21:26

Just say he tried to like the post and selected the wrong thing. When it was brought to his attention, he deleted it.

End of hand wringing.

What area of work is he in?

Literally this.

This, it’s really easy to accidentally post the wrong emoji on a post, it’s not like he actually wrote anything & I don’t see what it has to do with his work anyway.

WhereIsBebèsChambre · 04/01/2024 21:30

He meant to do the 'care' emoji of course....

Atethehalloweenchocs · 04/01/2024 21:51

Well it was an obnoxious thing to do. But I cant imagine it is a firing offence.

gamerchick · 04/01/2024 21:54

If that's all he did then he can say it was accidental. Accidental happens with that button.

It's weird though and no good comes of listing your place of work on Facebook imo.
