Looking to go this summer. We love being on the beach and eating out. Or is there anywhere else you would recommend in Croatia?

We did Trogir, Split, Brac with day trips to Hvar and Bol. It’s super easy to travel between the islands, I’d have 3/4 nights in a few places

Would def recommend Trogir, Browns Hotel was beautiful

Did a vineyard tour and tasting which was fab too

Korcula is a lovely island for a few days

I think if you have two weeks you have enough time to do a few stops? Hvar is lovely but two weeks just on hvar is possibly too long.
second what others said about trogir and korcula both being awesome… and brac is where the Croatians go ( altho haven’t had the opportunity myself)

This is so helpful thank you. Will investigate further.

We did Hvar for five days, then got a car and drove to Montenegro for four days and then onto Dubrovnik for 3 days, five days I thought was just right for Hvar, I think if I did it again I would skip Montenegro and do more of Croatia

We were staying in Tribunj and went down to Split and got a ferry to Hvar. It was beautiful, all the lavender was out, the smell was something else! This would have been in 2009 and the ferry with the car was extremely expensive. Eating on the island was also very pricy, but I would still recommend it.

2 weeks may be a bit much, unless you want to just kick back and relax. There are hiking tours and good beaches. We wanted to see the Blue Grotto, but it was on another island (adjacent).

I would get a car and drive up and down Croatia. Most of the beeches are pebble/Stone.

Hvar is my favourite place on earth and we go every year. I would spend at least a week there and do trips around the island. Make sure you go to both Fortresses, most people miss out the views from Fort Napoleon, walk from Hvar town to Milna and check out Malo Grabjle :) PM me if you would like more information. Also recommend a day or two on Korcula and a trip to Vis :)

I wish we'd known about it in advance and planned 10 days where we stayed and 3 or 4 on Hver.

As someone pointed out, Croatia isn't known for its Sandy beaches. It's not a beach destination. That said, it's stunning. We did a boat tour of loads of islands. Great fun.

Hvar, no "e"! Silly me...

Did you go to the one with the salt lake? It was a national park, very odd floating like you see in the Dead Sea (never been there).
