Anyone used the 'help to buy' window fitting scheme?

We desperately need to replace our very old windows but don't have enough to pay upfront (we do have a deposit)
Repayment plans are generally around 12% interest and when looking I keep seeing adverts for the above company, has anyone used them?
Any money saving tips or ideas welcome!!

Are you sure it's legit? Never heard of the scheme but I see a lot of similar ads saying things like, the government will give you free windows. It's all bollocks!

Ive wondered at these ads too....a few years ago in my old house i got a new boiler for free as part of some government scheme...so im tempted to see if i can get a grant for new windows.

No idea about them sorry but have you looked at various bank loans as well as asking if the window companies who have quoted you a price also have loan agreements? When I had new guttering/fascia boards the building company offered loans backed (underwritten?) by RBS, a major bank. Or do one window at a time when funds allow, which is what i did in this house.

Yes, my gut feeling is that it's dodgy (or just another way of being talked into taking out credit?)

Get quotes off several companies.

I saw an ad for the window scheme yesterday and it smells of very expensive windows.

I have looked into this for work and can find no evidence that this is government funded.
