Has anyone been to New York on a BA holiday?

I would like to book a four night holiday to New York for my adult daughter and me. There seem to be some good deals on the BA website but I have no idea about the hotels. I have googled reviews on the few that I shortlisted, but with each one there are some really negative reviews. Can anyone recommend a budget hotel? (Doesn't need to be on a BA holiday!)

Yes, I use BA Holidays quite a lot for NYC holidays as it often works out cheaper that way (and I have status with BA). The Even Hotel Midtown East is a decent budget hotel. It's quite close to Grand Central. Whatever you do, don't stay at the Hotel Stewart near Madison Square Garden as it the rooms are very rundown (I used to have to stay there with work as our NYC office is across the street) although I don't think it's on the BA list.

For a higher budget, I like the Intercontinental Barclay or the Refinery Hotel or JW Marriott Essex House.

I have been on a BA holiday and stayed at the Intercontinental Barclay. Not the cheapest option but was lovely inside and a fab location so would choose it again.

Yes. Can't recommend it enough. It was cheaper to book it as a holiday with BA than to just book the flights on their own!
Also used it for San Fran & LA. Highly recommend

Yes last year stayed at the cheapest they always recommended Hilton Times Square West, good location, clean and comfy bed. The staff also went out of their way to get us to JFK to get our hire car for the rest of our trip.

Oh thank you all for your comments! I will have a look at your recommendations and it's helpful to know any to avoid too, so thank you for that also, HundredMiles.
