Quickest way to get a credit card to use abroad?

Going abroad next week and need to have a credit card by next Tuesday. I have one we usually use but DH is going alone and needs one. Who is the quickest to apply and post out and can be used in Europe?

I received my Starling card in 3 working days, it's a bit of a push if you apply tomorrow and want it Tuesday

Thanks was that a debit or credit card?

Thanks, at this point it’s whatever comes in time rather than needing the rates etc

Can you apply for a second card for the CC account you already have? I have a CC account and DH has a second card in his name.

Mine is linked to my bank account in my sole name but that’s a good shout thanks I’ll see if I can add DH to mine

Monzo Flex?

BlueberryBrambles · 04/01/2024 11:43

Thanks will take a look. Am completely clueless as you can tell

Do you mean credit or debit?

Monzo doesn't charge for use abroad. Nor does Starling. Both free. Nationwide FlexPlus current account (monthly fee) has no spending fees abroad as a perk too. All have debit cards and easy to use apps so you can shift money to spend from your other accounts.

Revolut, you can use a virtual card on your phone immediately while waiting for the physical card to come and is pretty much designed for using abroad

You can get preloaded cards at travel agents. You just give them the cash and they put it on a pre paid credit card for you. 5 minute job.

Chase - albeit a preloaded card - I could use the app immediately. Card came within about 2 days and no overseas charges.
