Vinted pulled my item off sale

I advertised a handmade patchwork throw that I bought from an Etsy shop. I advertised it on Vinted. Was totally transparent about the item (bought it for my daughter who then changed her mind one months later so too late to return). Gave dimensions, material used, all pictures original, said it was unbranded as it was handmade. They've pulled the ad within a minute of my posting it.

I appealed it they've now deleted it entirely! Said my title was misleading?! I'm totally baffled.

Has anyone got any advice for me? Am I missing something really obvious?!

Probably triggered a fraud alert.

Smartiepants79 · 03/01/2024 19:22

Do they think your trying to fraudulently sell other peoples work?
Is it classed as bedding and doesn’t meet some kind of safety standards?

Decimate · 03/01/2024 19:26

What's was the title? Did they think it was manufactured rather than handmade?

NearlyHeadlessNick · 03/01/2024 19:27

Some listings have key words for automatic deletion - bizarrely "gift" i.e. "gift set" got one of mine deleted! They usually message with a reason and there's usually a work around for something like that.

Handmade would indicate you made it maybe. Did you use the phone from Etsy as that's not allowed. Vinted are strict

hellojelly · 03/01/2024 19:35

Did you use your own photos or photos showing the original Etsy advert?

Passthecoffee · 03/01/2024 19:54

I'm almost sure it's because it was listed as handmade. It's triggered something which makes them think you're selling an item that you've made which isn't allowed.

OooohAhhhh · 03/01/2024 20:39

They don't allow handmade items.

Gnomegnomegnome · 03/01/2024 20:42

Relist as patchwork throw

WelshMoth · 03/01/2024 23:34

Thanks everyone. On the appeal, they said that I hadn't branded it correctly so my ad was mis-leading, but that's confused me more because I stated it was unbranded!

Relist as patchwork throw

I'll do that. Thanks.

I don't think you can sell handmade items on Vinted.

I don't think you can sell handmade items on Vinted.

People do this all the time. There's loads of hideous hand made earrings and jewellery on Vinted.

Falkenburg · 04/01/2024 00:33

Use your own photos instead of the original seller photos.

1CocklodgerHouse · 04/01/2024 00:57

Did you actually type unbranded or did you tick no brand? If you know the Etsy shop name you could try putting that as a custom brand

WelshMoth · 05/01/2024 09:01

Update: I followed advice on here and re-listed as a Patchwork Throw - I omitted the handmade bit and it's been given the immediate go-ahead.

Thanks everyone. Just hope it sells now! I could do with the cash.
