I’m listening to an interview on the radio regarding a virtual sexual assault, where someone’s avatar in a virtual world online was assaulted. There’s an article below

im not sure how I feel about this. I wondered what mumsnet posters think. It’s clearly unacceptable and shouldn’t happen, but is it assault?

The incident in a virtual world reportedly left the under-16-year-old traumatised.

I'm confused by this. I play VR and have a quest 3. If you're somewhere you're not happy with take the headset off. It's not so good you could accidently forget your in VR and think it's real!
Tracking only tracks your head and your hands. Your body movements don't (yet) track so it wouldn't be possible to pretend to rape someone for example.

It depends if it was a child avatar and an adult intentionally psychologically damaged a child
