Best place to holiday for lone parent and 7yo Dd?

Any ideas? Never taken Dd abroad on my own before always done big family holidays.

Would an all inclusive package be the best bet do you think? So I just pay and it’s all sorted?

Or city break with an air bnb? We do like to get out and sight-see and have lots to do, worried we’ll be bored to death after 3 days of hotel and pool!

Our local airport (10 min taxi away!) has just started flying to Portugal so this is definitely on the list if anyone has been before.

Have a look at a cruise, specifically MSC. There’s LOADS to do, amazing kids entertainment and you can visit new places and not have to unpack each time. I thought I’d hate it - I’m a single mum too and we absolutely loved it.

Also came to suggest a cruise-always loads to do and great kids clubs. People are always chatty (if you feel like chatting) so you always meet some interesting people. Plus you get to explore lots of different places.

Any holiday village will be brilliant for you and dd. They're all inclusive, have kids club should she choose to go, entertainment for both of you.

Portugal is lovely and very child friendly. I also think it would feel safer as a woman on my own than other places. Get somewhere with a kids club just make sure she doesn't abandon you the whole time for the club!

Literally was about to respond and say the EXACT same thing, with the EXACT same cruise line!

I'm a single Mum as well and honestly, we just had an absolute blast last year and are going again this year. I actually offered to take DS to Japan this year (I wanted to go and he's a gamer so thought he'd love it)... Nope, wanted another MSC cruise 🚢
