Been lucky enough to get a £3200 bonus at work.
Debating what to do -
head says practical for house - new front door
heart says treat the family to something more extravagant DH, DS5 and DS1 maybe like a lodge at west midland safari park.

what would you do with £3200?

If you need the front door for security reasons, do that for sure.

The next time (if ever) I get a decent bonus I'll be booking a holiday, though, so I'm clearly a "do as I say" person!

Remember it gets taxed OP! So probably about half that nett.

Maybe spend 50% on practical things and the rest on a nice treat?

Having never worked in an industry that gives bonuses (and that particular bonus being the equivalent of 3 months salary to me), my opinion may be a little skewed; but I would do something that will have a long term benefit, such as work on the house or reducing the mortgage.

I am a rather dull person though.

Although I’m sure you could do a trip to the safari park and a front door for that much.

Personally I'd get flights to London for a weekend for me, DH and the DC, hotel, tickets for a show and spending money.

Passes, merlin passes, Disney Paris annual pass?.. Something that will last longer...

CrazyDaisy0 · 02/01/2024 21:53

I’d treat yourself/the family with it ☺️
