Would it be wrong to create velcro bedsheets with matching PJ's for DS 4yo

If he isn't bouncing on the bed, fidgeting, pulling his PJ's off or rolling around, he eventually gets up and into my bed at 2 am. I am starting to think maybe that fancy flat velcro that is almost impossible to separate is the answer here. One bed. One child. Velcro down. One very happy parent off to watch TV in peace and then a full night's sleep.

I would say light-hearted but I know from experience MN hates a joke 😉

😂. That's an excellent idea. I also have a bed hopping 4 year old. Maybe add in a padlock on the door for extra safety!

Newuser75 · 02/01/2024 19:53

Or duck tape? 🤷‍♀️

soundsys · 02/01/2024 19:55

Ha yep get on it and patent it / you'd have plenty of takers 😁

I'll have a set in age 6 please. Let me know how much I owe you.

coxesorangepippin · 02/01/2024 19:59

Very cool

Do they do a set for knackered mothers too

Duct 😂

VelcroPJs · 02/01/2024 20:00

@Newuser75 I've considered tape but think that's social services territory. Whereas velcro is actively sold as an aid....velcro shoes for example. Duct tape shoes signal an issue.

Duct 😂

Duck tape is a brand name. You're both right.

Christmastreestillinonepiece · 02/01/2024 20:01

I have a staple gun.

CantFindTheBeat · 02/01/2024 20:01

@PlaidCushionProductions

In the UK, there is a range of strong water-proof adhesive tape which is branded 'Duck'.

No doubt after the original 'duct tape' use.

Newuser75 · 02/01/2024 20:01

@PlaidCushionProductions no, Duck tape. Google it.

VelcroPJs · 02/01/2024 20:02

@Christmastreestillinonepiece a more brutal yet equally as inventive 😂

Weighted blanket? (Not an adult size, too heavy)

My dd used to use a stretchy fabric "sleeve" that went round her mattress and she would tuck herself inside it, but she prefers the weighted blanket now.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 02/01/2024 20:25

Brushed cotton bedding and flannel pjs will have a similar effect, like Fuzzy Felt. Grin

OldTinHat · 02/01/2024 20:26

Cable ties?!

YoBeaches · 02/01/2024 20:33

Weighted blankets, too heavy for them to lift off?

(Semi serious, I have noted my 4yr old sleeps better with a heavier duvet/blanket combination)

VelcroPJs · 02/01/2024 20:43

I've just got him back up. I can't deal with being kicked again.

He has a feather duvet and blanket combo. Maybe a weighted one is the next step and melatonin.
