*For exciting, read ‘silly’ 🙂

The British are well known for their obsession with the weather.

So the burning question for today is…

There’s just TOO MUCH weather at the moment. It’s impossible not to talk about it.

PamelaParis · 02/01/2024 10:19

Your poll is flawed. It's not raining here in this part of Scotland.

Lifeinlists · 02/01/2024 10:21

Oops I didnt scroll down far enough. Put me down for Ark. Water coming in both sides of garage (again) and we have our very own lake district at the bottom of our garden.
And we're just about to drive up the M6. Eek!

CeriB82 · 02/01/2024 10:24

Lovely though and ive just been for a walk. Rain is no biggie for me

Picklemeyellow · 02/01/2024 10:24

It’s dark, dank, raining and miserable today (Essex). Just walked the dog, got soaked as I quickly grabbed a brolly and halfway into walk I put it up as it started passing it down. I realised it was the one dog had chomped into last time I used it and it has a whacking great big hole in it and I should have chucked it - Deep joy.
Off to work in a min - walking dogs 🙈

This autumn and winter has been dreadful for rain. DD plays football and they’ve only managed to play twice since mid October due to waterlogged pitches. DS has played a few more because his games are smaller and can be played on Astro.

CeeJay81 · 02/01/2024 10:29

Just drizzle here atm but due to get worse later and its been awful since before Xmas. So I've voted yes and i'm fecking fed up with it. I can't moan because it's Wales lol, I should expect it right?

RafaistheKingofClay · 02/01/2024 10:31

I’ve gone for Ark. Also could have put yes and I’m fed up of it.

whirlyhead · 02/01/2024 10:37

I live in spain and it hasn't rained since October. We need rain! Send us some of your rain!! Jolly sick of having to water the plants I planted a few weeks back.

AlwaysForksAndMarbles · 02/01/2024 11:01

It’s pouring again here in Gloucestershire, and we have an amber wind warning until 8pm.

Dinobooklover · 02/01/2024 11:15

Have had enough of rain. Can't remember when I last saw the sun. Might be exaggerating but genuinely don't know if I am.

Natsku · 02/01/2024 11:34

Enjoy the rain - its minus 30 where I am (Finland) which is not so fun, OH couldn't go to work today because its too cold for our car!

donteatthedaisies0 · 02/01/2024 11:35

No it's sunny !

MandyMotherOfBrian · 02/01/2024 11:36

Biblical amounts of rain here on the North Kent coast. And yet I guarantee we’ll still have a hosepipe ban and official drought round about the end of March. 🙄

SusanSHelit · 02/01/2024 11:38

I am another utterly sick of the rain now and I usually quite like it. In Liverpool and it was so dark and miserable yesterday I had the lights on at midday and it made a very noticeable difference. It was pretty biblical on nye, coming down in sheets

I can't remember the last time I saw a patch of blue sky

Sharrilanda · 02/01/2024 14:21

We’ve just got in from a very soggy walk, and it’s still grey and gloomy with the winds also picking up now.

I actually rather like rainy days but it just seems so monotonous for so long!

@whirlyhead I would trade you this relentless rain for a bit of dry weather in a heartbeat 😄

EmpressSoleil · 02/01/2024 14:25

On the one hand I am fed up of the rain and would prefer one of those crisp, cold, dry days. But the rain means its not so cold so I'm using less heating! On balance I still voted for the rain to feck off!

Naptrappedmummy · 02/01/2024 14:46

We had 2 stunning blue-sky frosty days at the beginning of December, and just grey miserable rain and high winds ever since. I’ve got a baby and a 4 year old and don’t have a car, I don’t mind a bit of a rain usually but it’s been torrential and the wind has closed a lot of things around us. So the holidays have been shit, stuck at home unable to do anything. I really hate living in the U.K., the number of days we waste due to crap weather is unreal.

Riverlee · 02/01/2024 14:50

Yes, wet and very, very windy. However, when dropped son of earlier, car said it was 12. Both dog and I got soaked this morning, and consequently broke my less-than-one diet as needed something comforting and warm to eat.

SideshowAuntSallyx · 02/01/2024 14:53

The wind has blown the rain clouds away so I see some blue sky but it's too wet to actually do anything and no doubt it will rain again in a an hour.

MadisonAvenue · 02/01/2024 15:23

It’s been pouring down here where I am in the West Midlands since about 8.30am.

Managed to walk the dog before it started, he refuses to go out in rain, but the mud in the woods and on the common behind our house is horrendous. I’d normally enjoy the morning walk but it’s such a chore when the paths are waterlogged and muddy.

NoMoreXmasTree · 02/01/2024 15:26

The rain I can handle, but it's the endless heavy mud that does my head in. I have a dog and it's everywhere.
