Best weekend away you ever had??

I’m planning a 50th birthday weekend getaway for me and my best mate of 30 years.

I found this searching for the same question and I am surprised you didn’t get any answers! Bumping for ideas…..

The best I ever had was champagne tasting in Epernay France- just beautiful.

I loved Marrakech - I've been back lots of times - and Lisbon. Both really manageable for a long weekend (to be fair, I went for four days to each). EasyJet flights, no time difference, easy to get from the airport to the centre, easily walkable to all the good bits, lots to see, cheap when you're there, fantastic food in each. Both obviously very different from each other but those were the things they had in common and what I was looking for. Berlin is also a fabulous city. I didn't really enjoy Paris for a weekend - more stressful (but I was with my ex-husband so it may have been down to him rather than Paris itself).
