Uber question?

I never ever use Uber but going to for the first time tomorrow someone mentioned to me that you can end up in an Uber with other people you don’t know like a shared one! That would be my worst nightmare so can someone tell me
Which one that is so I can make sure I avoid it please? Is it Uberx?

I've done shared Uber before to save money... but it wouldn't be my first choice of transport.

No UberX is what I use. You have to physically choose the share trip option to get a shared one.
