Strep throat/tonsillitis

My dd had just been treated for her tonsillitis a few days ago. Since she been feeling better, I've had a sore scratchy throat which its managable, i can drink water and eat. Ive had tonsillitis before, i remembered that awful painful throat feel.

Now my new boyfriend who not met my dd but been with me, is in severe pain with a fever, came out with a rash, got very sore throat along with a swollen neck. It's affecting him his sleep, eating and drinking.

Could he have it worse than me? Does it reacts differently to each person?

Also i think we both got oral thrush too cos i was taking antibiotics for my sinusitis a few days ago, but a few days later i came out with thrush which i thought originally weve both got oral thrush, because we both had sex, that needs to be treated which we are both doing with a tablet but our throats is still so sore so possibly we got both...thrush and tonsillitis.

I've had strep throat and tonsillitis loads and am rarely treated with anything (GP insists on doing nothing until about 3 weeks in) my family I live with have thankfully never caught it.

Yes the same infection can affect people differently/ with more severity.
Strep Throat can turn into a blood infection which is dangerous, your bf needs to see a GP to rule that out and possibly have antibiotics.

I've been and they said ive got Pharyngitis and no thrush.

But because ive had it for a while and i already had antibiotics for my sinusitis before Xmas, that course shouldve of cleared my throat as well....but didnt...so im needing a swab.

.....maybe its because me and my boyfriend have been kissing as he got an infected throat too.

I tried the salt and water to gsrgle. That seems worked better than the Colgate peroxyl mouthwash
