Bleeding in between my period

Hi, so looking for some advice. So I had my period as normal on December 15th but yesterday I noticed I was bleeding a little, not like a normal period but there was a Bit of blood and I noticed the same today but it’s only been 15 days since my period.
Any advice on why this could be happening? It’s made me a bit worried and it’s the first time that I can remember that I’ve had bleeding in between a period.
Thanks

How old are you? If 40s, I'd say perimenopause.

If you're young, I'd be more concerned.

@EBearhug I am 29

I've had this recently and bleeding after sex. I went to GP then private GP. I was sent for an ultrasound (vaginal and over the belly), smear and a colposcopy. It took around 3 months from seeing private GP to have all results back. Basically have adenomyosis with possible endo. I'm 33. I understand the worry, most likely it's nothing but go get seen and ask for above tests.

I have exactly the same issue. Had a little bit of blood on day 16 (seemed like old blood, ie more like brown discharge than fresh red) and then have started my period properly today which is day 21. So unusual for me - I’ve been having periods for 30 years and they’re always 27-30 days apart, and never any mid-cycle bleeding.

I’m going to speak to my GP about it.

I have a light bleed/spotting when I ovulate. It's normal for me. This started happening to me around your age. Do you know if this was around ovulation time?

Vinrouge4 · 01/01/2024 19:21

Could it be ovulation bleeding. It is not unusual 14 days (ish) after start of period.

RandomMess · 01/01/2024 19:25

Implantation bleed.

When this happened to me (on two separate occasions), it was uterine polyps both times- easily removed in day surgery.

But it could be any one of a number of things, really- any unexplained bleeding merits a GP appointment.

Thanks all, I’m going to see if it happens again and then book a doctors appointment

It could be a whole load of things - best to get checked over by the GP.

Mine was endometriosis.

RandomMess · 02/01/2024 08:23

Make the appointment now. Unexplained bleeding between periods should always be checked out.

Whatsmyusername1235 · 02/01/2024 08:43

I think I will try and get an appointment.
still bleeding a little now but it’s really dark red/brown

I had this last year. Period as normal, then 5 days after it stopped BAM - second period. My cycle totally reset after that. No other symptoms. Though annoyingly I was on holiday and hadn't brought tampons because I'd just finished!

Anyway, GP said "these things happen sometimes" and showed me the door 🙄🙄🙄 Fortunately it hasn't happened again and I've been fairly regular since.

Definitely call your doctor, but it's too soon to worry.

Hi OP did you get an answer to your situation? I am going through something similar, have booked an appointment with the GP so just wanting to see what outcome has been for others.
