Is there an app (or website) that helps build a colour scheme from a photo of some fabric?

I don’t mean that takes colours from my fabric and tells me what’s there, but that tells me what other colours may go with it.

I have some textured curtains that are the same shade. The apps that I've tried pick out colours form the curtains to make a colour scheme, but they’re picking out the shadows and it’s just not working - hard to explain.

For example, I want a colour scheme that goes with these curtains, but everything I find just picks out colours from the curtains that I don’t see at all.

I want so say that they look better IRL - I wouldn’t have chosen them on the website, but loved them in the shop. The pattern looks more two tone here than IRL.

I don't know if an app exists but Pinterest is quite useful for these sorts of things

So if your curtains are taupe (I don't have my glasses on so can't quite tell', you could search 'taupe colour palette room scheme' or 'taupe complimentary room colours' and see various rooms/paint swatches that line up next to each other

Usually when you click in the links they'll mention where they got the items/paint from but you may get non UK links. Useful for inspiration though!

Try the Dulux Visualizer app. I used it very successfully to match to my curtains and find complimentary colour schemes. The Canva colour wheel might also be useful https://www.canva.com/colors/color-wheel/

Thank you! I’ll have a look.

The curtains look like a neutral beige. You can choose any colour scheme to go with them? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Not really - they're neutral, but against different colours they can look like a 'dirty' cream or much fresher. Plus there’s a fine line between Scandi neutral colour schemes and blah beige ones. I want clean and neutral, not beige/ greige everywhere.

I also want to play around - to see what I might not have thought of.

What about adding some warmth to greens or blues with a mustard colour?

Ooh -I wouldn’t have thought of mustard.

Yes you can also do this on Canva,
