Converting en-suite to a wet room

If anyone has been through the process, please can you share your experiences and learnings? We are due to replace the en-suite next year and are considering a wet room for clean lines and simplicity of cleaning but neither of us has ever lived with one, only been in the hotel ones.

Are they good in an every day life, any design aspects to consider, and plumbing issues to be warned about? Thank you.

Oh god don't do it. My landlord redid my bathroom from a wet room to a normal bathroom two years ago and I am SO grateful.

Everywhere was always completely drenched in water, mould, towels never dried wiping down tiles daily and scrubbing floors that's don't come clean. Water used to get under the flooring and start to stink.

Never ever again.
