NY resolution - anyone want to join me?

Just wondered if anyone wanted to join me and support eachother with whatever we want to achieve. I haven't got a major resolution, but overall I'd like to lose 3lbs (I lost weight before and put 3lbs back on last year) and drink less alcohol this year.

I'll join you! I'm going to:

  • learn how to do a proper front crawl
  • try a new recipe every month
  • 10 minutes a day strength training
  • sponsor a guide dog.

Some are easier than others. I've chosen ones that Future Me will thank me for.

Good luck to you with yours!

Mine is to stop buying cheap shit. We're OK for money, but growing up my family was bones of our arse poor. I struggle to shake the habit of always buying the cheapest possible thing, so end up with low quality clothes, food, everything really. I want to change the focus to making sure whatever I buy is really good quality.

I was visiting family the other week and was really struck with how lovely SIL's clothes looked. She made us bacon sandwiches and it was all just so much nicer than what I buy. Nicer bread, nicer bacon, nicer ketchup.

I've made a start by ordering 10 pairs of pants and 2 pairs of leggings, to replace pairs I have which I bought years ago in Primark and are falling apart.

I hear you @AhBiscuits All my clothes are cheap and go bobbly/thin after a few wears and washes. I would like to have a small wardrobe but good quality.

Also for me:
Cut down on the amount of time I am on MN in the day. It is going to cost me my job if I continue to be railroaded by it and to the extent I allow myself to be.

Eat better/healthier, reduce crap & alcohol and eat fresher with the aim to lose 2 stone.

Try IF.

Be more social. I have slowly realised that I've been gradually isolating myself over the last few years. I've had opportunities to make more friends and push at open doors, but I've just not taken them. I need to push myself out of my comfort area. NY day and I had never felt so alone and bored. I have DH & DC at home but they all do their own thing. I sat looking at whatsapp just waiting for someone, anyone, to message me.

Lots of inspiring goals here.

I want to drink far less alcohol. Only drinking one night a week (Saturdays with my husband) is the goal.

I’m going to be doing intermittent fasting 12-8 as it has worked well in the past. Will be a little bit more flexible at the weekend. I’d like to lose about half a stone (which is what I’ve put on in the last two stress filled months).

Linked to this I will have better lunches at work and stop having so much hot chocolate 😳

I’m also going to read more poetry. My plan is to keep a poetry book on my bedside table to look through in the mornings/ evenings rather than mindlessly scrolling.

I will also buy as many books as I can at my lovely local bookshop even if I have to wait for them to be ordered in.
