I can't sleep and it's pissing me off

Which is, of course, making it harder to sleep. Have to be up at half 5 for work so trying not to clock watch or it'll be another (non-)reason to be grumpy. Whinewhinewaaahwhinearrgh.

Anybody else want to share their cheery starts to the year?

I can't sleep either. Blaming menopause 🤣

Cricketbelle · 01/01/2024 01:27

I’ve taken a Nytol….

Squirrelsnut · 01/01/2024 01:28

Listen to a white noise video or similar on YouTube. I like rain sounds and green noise, personally.

I'm sorry you can't sleep - may I invite you to try the Christmas Puzzle on the main thread. You might find it interesting or it might bore you to sleep!
I hope you enjoy it - I enjoyed making it!
Best wishes - Dan

Same! Usually I have trouble keeping my eyes open for the NYE bongs, it tonight, sleep eludes me, despite having had to take migraine meds earlier which normally zonk me out. Thanks, hormones!

bigyellowTpot · 01/01/2024 01:57

me too. I was the same last night it was gone 8:30am before I dropped off for a couple of hours then was up and out by 11am. Thought I'd be exhausted by now but no bloody wide awake! mid 40s so I'm also blaming peri menopause symptoms.

FrostieBoabby · 01/01/2024 01:58

Me neither, I thought I was doing better as managed to sleep in my own bed for last 7 nights which is good for me but I'm currently on the sofa watching boring YouTube videos and trying to ignore stomach cramps due to eating crisps earlier.

icelollybrolly · 01/01/2024 01:59

same. went to go to sleep half an hour ago and baby woke up and vomited all over the bed, now we’re both wide awake 😅

whatausername · 01/01/2024 02:02

Nothing is working tonight. Finally made some noodles, had the urge, no idea why. But sometimes a properly full stomach helps.

I'm desperate to sleep. Baby is too but not for anything longer than an hour at a time, at most, or away from me / my boob.

Sanch1 · 01/01/2024 02:07

I'm up being grumpy about my rubbish NYE 😡

LadyWiddiothethird · 01/01/2024 02:08

Count down from 10-0,very slowly, repeat. It works! I have never got as far as doing it for a third time.

mrsfollowill · 01/01/2024 02:08

I spent so long 'pacing myself' so I didn't end up too drunk to see the New Year in I'm basically sober so having a couple of G&T's before I retire. DH went a bit more hell for leather so I can hear him snoring from downstairs.
I'm having an hour on here. Very lucky- no kids in the house- Just Me, DH & adult DS- our friends have gone home (5 min walk for them) and they are home now. No-one has to get up in the morning either. I'm not expected anywhere or doing any sort of special meal.

FlyingCherub · 01/01/2024 02:16

I had a glass of baileys and have eaten too much then some fucker woke me with a jump with their fireworks. My heart is pounding still and I can't sleep. Sigh.

Squirrelsnut · 01/01/2024 10:42

On a serious note, HRT sorted my insomnia out almost instantly. Something to consider if it's an ongoing peri issue..? Being constantly knackered is shit.
