Has anyone else got this awful flu? I'm coughing up my lungs non stop, my tonsils are like golf balls and I keep having hallucinations because my temperature keeps going up. Boiling one minute and freezing the next. This has been going on for 4 days now. I dont think I'll be going to work on Tuesday. I can hardly stand.
My mother has it and my friend.

Yes, both me and my mum, also on day 4. Non stop coughing, fever, painful chest, feels like a stone is in my chest, it’s horrible. Sending virtual hugs

Whole household has it - it's grim. I never knew it was possible for my wrists & ankles to ache so much, wee one just keeps sobbing & I've pulled a muscle with coughing so much. Happy new year!

First time I've had it and I've only left the house once over Christmas 😒

Oh no sorry to hear you are all sick too. Its been 6bdays now and no let up.

Joining the flu party - since 31st of December, full blown temp on 1st and now I'm on day 5 and still feel horrific. The morning is the worst. How is everyone now? How long did it take for you to recover? My throat hurts so much I can't speak.

*Everything aches even down to my fingers and toes
*Drenched in sweat when I woke this morning
*Earache
*Blocked nose
*Weak and shaky when standing

Just got back from a two week holiday. I should be feeling refreshed and ready for work on Monday.
I had pneumonia nearly all of November so I'm absolutely fed up.

We started with it on 23rd December and we're only just starting to feel a bit better. Thoroughly exhausted by 7pm every night though and could sleep the clock round.
I've honestly never known anything like this. It's been the most awful illness I've ever had. Still coughing and aching

@Littletinytarzanswingingfromanosehair I have just come back from holiday too. I think it must've been the plane. And I also feel really weak and dizzy.

I tend to feel better later in the day and horrific at night and morning. My temperature isn't coming down with paracetamol - are yours?

@Lollywillowes para and ibuprofen has taken the edge off things but nothing much. I wish I still had codeine left to help take the edge off the cough. I have. Gp Apt tomorrow (not related to this flu) I might drop the question by to see if they can recommend anything.

My post was written this time last year but by the looks of it it's so much worse this year. Our hospital is full.

It's truly awful.

I get the jab every year so hope my to avoid it.

I've just tested on a lateral flow today as due back at work tomorrow and my sense of smell and taste have gone. It's positive FFs.
Luckily I can WFH.

@Littletinytarzanswingingfromanosehair I'm sorry to hear that! I tested twice as it feels just like Covid when I had it this summer - negative though,

I am also not going to work tomorrow. It's the right thing to do: I am not spreading this bastard around!

Everyone I know seems to have it.

I am waiting for a heart transplant and am honestly afraid to go out in case I catch it.

Said heart condition was discovered in the first place after I nearly died from the flu.

Although I have at least been vaccinated.
