Got popcorn ready, currently sat at home scrolling through Netflix and Amazon Prime looking for something to watch.

No desire to leave the sofa in the warmth.

Happy early New Years to everyone!

Wishing you all the best, @eweegiemum

MarleyandMarleyWoooo · 31/12/2023 20:07

We were at a 30th last night so it’s a very chilled nye here. Chinese on the sofa and a film!

maimeo · 31/12/2023 20:10

Hope all goes well for you @weegiemum Flowers

Just getting dressed to walk into the centre. Drinks, possibly the cathedral service, midnight procession and then definitely the live music and fireworks.

Fantastic community event. Love walking home with friends and neighbours.

BrandyandGinger · 31/12/2023 20:18

Watching a film later and waiting for a DC to call me to collect them. Hopefully it won't be too late. If I'm home before 1am I'll go wild and have a glass of sherry.

SacreBleugh · 31/12/2023 20:22

Absolutely can't be arsed with NYE. I'll be in bed by 11. Husband's turn to pick up youngest at whatever time. Older kids are away off.

bannaba · 31/12/2023 20:25

Currently 36 weeks pregnant and wanting an early night although friends are pestering me to join them at the pub a few doors down, I categorically do not want to go, how do I tell them that - I'm uncomfortable, tired and v emotional as "DP" has been an arse all day although he's gone out now with friends. Happy new year eh

TheWayTheLightFalls · 31/12/2023 20:29

One of the neighbours has paid me over the odds to hang out with her dog so she can go to the pub. I’m in a clean apartment cuddling a lurcher, drinking tea and now contemplating a career change.

Andnowshesatoddler · 31/12/2023 20:44

Pizza cake gin and reminiscing over my first full year as a mummy.

Toomuchstuffeverywhere · 31/12/2023 20:51

We had two neighbour friends of Dds (5 years old) over for a play and small early NYE party, balloons, confetti and streamers, those blower thingies, sparklers and dancing to YouTube music 😂Made a NYE Gruffalo dinner of toadstool pizza, Gruffalo orange eyes and chocolate caterpillar twists with Dd. Dh and I had some champagne and Dd had kids champagne (sparkling apple juice) she’s now asleep but we’ll wake her just before midnight and walk to the countryside/woods two doors down to watch all the fireworks from early beach and hotel displays. I’m currently waiting to watch Gogglebox and eating chocs.
Tomorrow we’ll likely take our dog for a walk to the beach and have a hot choc there.
New Years eves these days are very different to when I was younger 😅

HarrietSchulenberg · 31/12/2023 21:01

Meeting friends at 11 to go up a biggish hill to watch the fireworks across 3 counties and 2 countries. Sober till I get home as will be driving.

gawditswindy · 31/12/2023 21:15

Home made cocktails and BBC Alba. PJs and a cosy jumper.

SideshowAuntSallyx · 31/12/2023 21:28

I had a migraine earlier where my vision went all kaleidoscope like, nearly passed out answering the door, so I'm considering going to bed as I'm still not feeling 100%. That and there is nothing on TV.

Pieceofpurplesky · 31/12/2023 21:38

Been out for a meal and met up with friends. Back home on the sofa with mum and dad (in their 80s). Will watch TV and drink a glass or two.
DS (19) had just decided he can't be bothered going out as his mate rang and the pub is rammed and 6 deep at the bar.

marleymoo12 · 31/12/2023 21:40

Been for a lovely curry, had a shower in pjs watching Harry Potter and building a Lego Hogwarts with my husband that we've just bought today 😂 honestly people wouldn't believe we're 29.

Musicalmistress · 31/12/2023 21:45

Just the 2 of us tonight with a homemade curry, a few bottles of bubbly and a wee bit Jools later.
Oldest 2 DC have moved out and youngest (17) has gone to a party with friends.

Waiting to take the dog out in the sticks just before 12 as she's phobic of fireworks and it gets very noisy here.

Had some pets not survive fireworks, so take no chances.

Would rather be in bed.

nursiecat · 31/12/2023 21:56

I'm working a 12hr night shift but looking forward to roast made by husband and my girls tomorrow.

lairyfights9 · 31/12/2023 22:12

We had a snacky dinner, I put baby and toddler to bed. Then I started a beautiful canvas paint by numbers thing I got for Christmas (I think it's going to take me quite some time, and I got 6 of them so that's my creativity time for the whole year I reckon!!) while dp and dd1 played the bluey game. They've stopped now and are waiting for me to play some board games (currently scrolling Mumsnet while bfing baby back to sleep).

doitwithlove · 31/12/2023 22:53

I'm on MN in bed, alarm is set as at work tomorrow in the social care sector.

Happy New Year all 🎉

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 31/12/2023 23:08

Not much going on here. DP is working so will probably be dealing with some crap situations all night, and I'm ill so spending the evening coughing my guts up.

Kids are both fast asleep, as is the cat. I'm watching a 3 part BBC programme about organised crime gangs on catch-up and eating chocolate.

DP collected me a pizza before he left for work and I'm laid on the sofa in my oodie.

exLtEveDallas · 31/12/2023 23:09

Tried to walk to our local tonight, but only got about 300 yds down the road before I had to accept that I was just too damn ill to go out.

So back in, catching up on Reacher and having a few vodkas. Not exactly the evening I wanted, but the best I can do.

daffodilandtulip · 31/12/2023 23:14

I said earlier that I was too tired and didn't see the point staying up. The kids insisted they wanted to stay up. We watched a film and had a lovely party tea then clearly everyone was too tired as everyone just bickered and I cried and we're all in bed.

We've pretty much been alone together 24/7 since 22nd and we've had a lovely Christmas so we've done well to get this far without any rows or tears 🤣
