This lady really made females think back in the 90s about abuse towards women. She really was and is incredible.

Agree OP - she was incredible - what a show for someone her age!

doggiedude · 30/12/2023 23:57

She was probably about 60 when I saw her in concert. The energy and love she generated was amazing. This concert confirms my thoughts 💕

When I saw the programme, I decided to watch.

I was 'very surprised' to learn she was dead. I am sure I must have heard about it at the time but was definitely shocked.

Weird what I brains do to us

Sadly she died about a year ago from kidney failure 😞

For some reason I am always fascinated by the fact that she became a Swiss citizen, and relinquished her US citizenship. Nothing wrong at all about being Swiss, of course, but most people who has American citizenship tend to hold on to it, I guess.

I hope you’re not a Prince or Michael George fan too because you’re about to have a shit day.

I think she died in her chateau in Switzerland. It’s irrelevant though. She was an absolute legend.

@doggiedude
I agree, she was an absolute legend.

I did certainly not mean anything bad by my comment about her citizenship. I just thought it was an interesting fact about her. Not that many American superstars move to Switzerland, learn German, and become Swiss.
I apologize if I express myself badly, English is not my first language.

Absolutely loved the concert! So glad I accidentally found it on the tv!

She was outstanding; unique. I seem to recall that she was also once briefly associated with a nasty, forgettable little man by the name of Ike, who couldn't quite reach her coat tails.

I could listen to her singing Goldeneye on repeat for hours, let alone all of the other bangers!

Likely to be tax related.

FatherJackHackettsUnderpantsHamper · 31/12/2023 00:34

She was 83 when she died in May this year. She could have lived another 30 years and you'd still not quite believe that she'd gone; Tom Jones is probably in a similar category.

There was also a programme on BBC2 today - called Lives Well Lived - that looked into the lives of a few of the biggest names who died this year, including Tina.
