I wondered if anyone has any advice for how to go about getting the best insurance deal for a 17 year old learner in their own car please?

Marmalade are good

We used Collingwood which was the cheapest by far. £145 for 26 weeks. That was in my car though so for the learners own car it might be more.

It would probably work out cheapest for someone else to insure the car ( a qualified driver ) and the learner to get learner cover and then take out a full policy when they pass .

Thank you - will look at both of these.

Do you know if it’s better to add me as a named driver to the policy or just the learner driver until they pass?

@Floralnomad sorry crossed posts with you - thank you that’s what I was wondering.

Just go onto a comparison website and get some quotes. Try with you as an added driver or without.
Our DC's were cheaper with dp added.

Learner insurance is usually cheaper as they're always supervised.
It's a lot more expensive once they pass.
