What to do for big family birthdays?

Next summer my DF turns 75, SIL 40 and DS 21. Any ideas for a big family celebration? I don’t know whether to have a big party at home? Go away? Has anyone done anything they’d recommend as lovely?

We do different things for different people - depending on what they like.

Personally, I love a party, so that's what I've done for big birthdays, but dh really doesn't enjoy parties, so we are more likely to go away for a few days, which is what he enjoys most.

Generally though, when it is a big birthday, I've done more than one thing ..... party for those who like to party, lunch out with others, afternoon tea with someone else. meal out with others.
Don't limit it to one things which people are compromising on.
