Regaining smell with cold - help!

Hiya!

I have a significant birthday the day after tomorrow. Not doing all that much to celebrate - it's been a pretty shit year and we don't have much money - but my husband has booked a nice, fairly expensive meal for the two of us. However, I've had a low-level cold for the last few days and this morning have woken up with absolutely no sense of smell! Am going round sticking my noise in bubble bath bottles, pots of cinnamon etc - nothing. This is fairly common with colds for me, and I know it makes everything taste like cardboard.

Is there anything I can do to regain my smell by tomorrow lunchtime?! I can breathe through my nose so it's not totally blocked, just no smell. And it's not covid - I did a test!

Any tips and tricks welcome! Thanks.

I lost my smell and taste for 6 weeks last year when I had Covid so can totally relate!

I did smell training and took Zinc which I believe helped.

Keep on smelling different smells as it helps retrain the sensory nerves.

Good luck and Happy Birthday!
